Hi! My name is Aaron Dudenhofer, and if you are reading this it is because you either know me, have heard of me, or have stumbled across some of the topics that I have been discussing on this blog and share similar interests.
Originally from Michigan, I now live in Indianapolis and have become a huge Colts fan! My favorite thing about moving to Indiana is the state's love for basketball. I studied at the Herron School of Art and Design for Visual Communications. I discovered Drupal in 2007 and have been focusing on Drupal theming ever since.
I started Web Easy, LLC in 2009 as a company for my freelance work. Within months of setting up shop, I had partnered with 2 other Drupal guys and we raised the bar of our website development. We have had numerous opportunities and experiences since, and it has been a lot of fun.
In December of 2011, I started working as a themer for Commerce Guys, who are basically the leading e-commerce company that is working with Drupal. It has been exciting to work with such a team and I am loving every minute of it.
As I have moved forward in the web industry, I like to give something back as well. I have been proud to be a part of a few web development events for local charities. Both of these events consist of a 48 hour time limit where you are locked in to a location with a web team and expected to create a sustainable website from start to finish. I have been fortunate enough to be asked to lead the teams for each of these projects, so I take the work to heart.
The first event that I have helped in was the Refresh Weekend in 2010 and 2011. The first year, we worked on a site for My Sister's Place of Indianapolis and the second year was the Sustainable Library Coalition of Indianapolis. I was lucky enough to have a few members of the team both years, so the second year came more easily.
The second event that I enjoyed participating in was the Indy Givecamp. The charity that we were able to help was the Answers for Autism site for the Autism Advocates of Indiana.
Being a community-minded individual, I am also active in local user groups, including the Drupal Indy group, Refresh Indy, and Indy Media Artists. I was happy to help with the creation of websites for both the Drupal Indy and Indy Media Artists groups.
Ok, I think I have talked about myself enough for now. It was nice to meet you! I hope you stay for a little while.
